Aviation 101 Class 2012-2 at TCU, August 1 and August 8, 2012

PPGS Class 2012-2 graduated July 20, 2012


Seven aspiring Private Pilots graduated from the second Private Pilot Ground School (PPGS) of 2012 held in Fort Worth from April 23 through July 20.

Instrument Pilot Ground School (IPGS)

Ten Pilots participated in the first Instrument Pilot Ground School (IPGS) held from January 23 through March 5, 2012 at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth. The class was made up of both pilots seeking their instrument rating and pilots already having an instrument rating but taking the course as a comprehensive refresher. In addition to the classroom activities, we had an opportunity to visit the TCU wind tunnel in the Tucker Technology Center and to make a field trip to Aviation Training and Resource Center (ATRC) in Carrolton, TX for some first-hand exposure to a variety of instrument flight simulators.

Private Pilot Ground School (PPGS)

Ten aspiring Private Pilots graduated from the third Private Pilot Ground School (PPGS) of 2011 held at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth from October 3 through November 17. One week after completing the course, student pilot Erich Holmsten passed his FAA Knowledge Test with an outstanding grade of 90. Great job Erich!

The second Private Pilot Ground School (PPGS) of 2011 was held at the Lockheed-Martin Recreation Area (LMRA) in southwest Fort Worth from August 1 through September 19. Eighteen aspiring Private Pilots graduated after 6 weeks of classes and study. During the course, students participated in Orientation Flights in a Cessna 172 Aircraft provided by Huffman Aviation at the Fort Worth Spinks Airport in Burleson, Texas. One day after completing the course, student pilot Mark Swisher passed his FAA Knowledge Test with an outstanding grade of 92. Way to go Mark!

The first PPGS class of 2011 was held at the Meacham Airport from March 22 through May 3.  Our gracious host was Texas Jet, one of the finest Fixed Base Operator (FBO) facilities in the US.
