Fun & Training Day & FREE LUNCH
Hinton Airport, OK (2O8)

Hinton-2O8 Dale Walker from Lockheed Martin will be giving briefings on Lockheed’s updated Website. He will show us how to see the same weather information that his specialist are using to brief us. Dale will also help us file our pilot profile on the Lockheed site so we can reduce flight plan filing time.
Mike McDonald an Air Traffic Controller assigned to the OKC TRACON will hold a couple of sessions reading IFR clearances while we copy them (you can get 6 months worth of clearances in one day). Mike will also show us some short cuts into getting clearances from satellite airports.
Alex Weeks will give us a tour of the gliders stationed at Hinton, and talk about glider performance. Then for the brave hearts among us, there will be glider launches (kind-of-like catapulting off a carrier), and a flight around the traffic pattern. The fee is not set yet, but it will be small.
The Civil Air Patrol, University of Oklahoma, Sundance Academy, and others will have displays.
The Hinton Airport Manager (Dee), will provide us a FREE LUNCH, and aviation fuel prices will be competitively low as usual.
Fly in, Drive in, bring your family and friends for this relaxed “DAY AT THE AIRPORT”.

AOPA Regional Fly-In
San Marcos Municipal Airport (KHYI)

For many pilots, there’s no better way to spend a Saturday than enjoying all things general aviation. The AOPA Regional Fly-Ins are built around the association’s members, but everyone is welcome to join in. Each gathering will begin with a traditional pancake breakfast and town hall discussion with AOPA President Mark Baker. Baker will talk about big issues affecting general aviation, discuss key AOPA initiatives, and answer questions from the audience. Following breakfast, there will be opportunities for AOPA members to meet and mingle with one another and AOPA staff, take part in educational and safety seminars, and explore aircraft displays and aviation exhibits. Various flying activities and clinics will be offered, and for those who aren’t yet pilots, each event will include a learn-to-fly area.
Saturday, April 26, 2014
No charge for admission; AOPA members receive a complimentary lunch.
